Allow me to take you on my journey...

 

My Beginning - I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Rev. Dr. Eric A. Mayes, Jr. and Bernice Mayes. The youngest of six children, I began singing at the age of four. Oh how I loved it! Singing was everything to me so much so that I joined the church at age five so I could sing in the choir not really understanding anything about what or why I was singing. I just wanted to sing.

 

My Encounter - Once I was married, I moved to Germany and lived there for six years. This is where my spiritual journey began. I had my own personal life-changing encounter with the Lord, then I understood the “what” and the “why” I sing. “Amazing Grace” was no longer just a hymn, but it became real to me. I was blind but now I see. Jesus was no longer just a lovely song. I had had an UNDENIABLE encounter with His Spirit and my ministry began.

 

My Purpose - My struggle with alopecia started 30 years ago and the last 10 years I've been almost totally bald.  I was devastated and humiliated losing my hair and being confined to wigs and weaves. In 2019. I felt compelled by the Holy Spirit to reveal my true self so God could get the glory.  I thank God for His strength to help me reveal my bald.  I call it my "reborn again" day.  The day I uncovered my shame and trusted God to use me to bless others who suffer from self-image and self-esteem issues.  I have alopecia, but it DOESN'T have me!    

 

My Passion - I LOVE TO SING!  “…teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Col. 3:16). I have a passion for the people of God, a passion for ministry, and a passion for music. God has called me to serve His people through the ministry of music. This phase of my life is still under construction but the BEST IS YET TO COME.
